A little break at the Seoul airport

After a morning of uncertainty due to multiple flights cancelations (see previous posts), we were sent to Delta at a different terminal to take a direct flight to korea from which we would travel to Bangkok. This was highlighted by Yolanda asking with a straight face and in an i-am-totally-serious tone “which Korea?”. She wasn’t serious, but the attendant raised both eyebrows, which made me answer “I think the one in the south”. So the issue with being put in a different airline 30min before departure is that 1) you are unlikely to sit together and 2) that if you are vegan you will have pretty much nothing to eat for the 15 hour flight. So meals are consisting of pretty much of bread and salad with no dressing and chocolate browning that was definitely not vegan.:). We had to skip breakfast completely as the only offerings were sausage omelet or chicken noodles. So we sat for 14 hours immediately behind each other making those around those a bit sick with the frequent “I love you’s” across the seats. This sitting apart and an unusually turbulent flight also did not help Nestor’s phobia of flying, so he has been mostly “out” thanks to a combination of ambien and Xanax. We are now finally in Korea eating at the airport getting ready to take our flight to Bangkok. 🙂
